  • A Semiora account (Free plan or higher)
  • A Slack workspace where you have permission to install apps
  • Slack admin approval for third-party apps (if required by your workspace)

1. Connect your Slack workspace

Authorize Semiora to post messages to your Slack workspace via OAuth.

  1. 1

Sign in to your Semiora workspace at app.semiora.com.

  2. 2

Navigate to SettingsIntegrations in the left sidebar.

  3. 3

Find Slack in the messaging integrations list and click Connect.

  4. 4

In the Slack popup, review the requested permissions and click Allow to authorize Semiora.

  5. 5

Select the default channel where you want booking notifications to be posted.

  6. 6

Click Save to complete the integration setup.

Note:If your Slack workspace requires admin approval for app installations, you may need to request approval from your Slack admin before completing step 4.

2. Configure notification settings

Customize which booking events trigger notifications and which channels receive them.

  1. 1

    Go to SettingsIntegrationsSlack.

  2. 2

Under Notification Events, toggle which booking events trigger Slack messages.

Troubleshooting

Messages not appearing in Slack?
Verify that the Semiora bot has been added to the target channel. In Slack, type @Semiora in the channel and select Add to channel.
Can't find the channel in Semiora settings?
Private channels must have the Semiora bot installed before they appear in Semiora's channel selector. Public channels are discovered automatically.
OAuth authorization failed?
Ensure you are signing into the correct Slack workspace during the OAuth flow. If your organization uses SSO, you may need to authenticate through your identity provider first.

3. Disconnect the integration

To remove Slack from Semiora:

  1. 1

    Go to SettingsIntegrationsSlack.

  2. 2

Click Disconnect next to the Slack integration.

  3. 3

Confirm the disconnection in the popup modal.

  4. 4

Semiora immediately deletes all stored OAuth tokens and stops sending notifications.

Info:Disconnecting immediately revokes Semiora's access to your Slack workspace. You can reconnect at any time from the Integrations page.

Frequently asked questions

Common questions about Semiora's Slack integration.

Is the Slack integration free on Semiora?
Yes — unlike Calendly, which requires a paid Standard plan for Slack notifications, Semiora's Slack integration is available on all plans including the Free tier. Channel routing and direct message notifications are included at no extra cost.
How do I get Slack notifications when someone books a meeting?
Go to Settings → Integrations → Slack, click Connect, authorize your Slack workspace via OAuth, then select the channel where booking alerts should be posted. Semiora will immediately start posting a formatted message every time a booking is created, rescheduled, or cancelled.
Can I send booking notifications to multiple Slack channels?
Yes. Under Channel Routing in your Slack integration settings, you can assign each event type — booking created, rescheduled, and cancelled — to a different Slack channel. For example, route new bookings to #sales and cancellations to #ops.
Does the Semiora Slack integration work on mobile?
Yes. Semiora posts standard Slack messages, so you receive booking alerts on the Slack mobile app just like any other channel notification — no extra setup needed.
How is Semiora's Slack integration different from Calendly's?
Semiora's Slack integration is available on the Free plan, while Calendly requires a paid Standard plan ($10/month+). Semiora also supports per-event-type channel routing and direct message notifications out of the box, without needing Zapier or third-party automation tools.
Can I set up Slack notifications per event type?
Yes. You can configure which booking events trigger Slack messages — new bookings, reschedules, and cancellations can each be toggled on or off independently and routed to different channels.
Will the integration break if I rename a Slack channel?
No. Semiora stores the internal Slack channel ID, not the display name, so renaming a channel will not disrupt notifications. If you archive or delete a channel, update your channel routing settings in Semiora to avoid delivery failures.
Can my whole team receive booking notifications in Slack?
Yes. Route notifications to any public or private channel the Semiora bot has been added to, and every team member in that channel will see the alerts. You can also enable direct message notifications to notify specific individuals by email address.
Does Semiora read or store my Slack messages?
No. Semiora only sends outbound booking notifications to Slack. The bot does not read, index, or store any conversations or messages in your Slack workspace. Semiora only stores the OAuth access token required to post messages.
Do I need Zapier to connect Semiora and Slack?
No. Semiora has a native Slack integration — no Zapier, Make, or third-party middleware required. Connect directly from Settings → Integrations in your Semiora account.
What happens to my data if I disconnect Slack from Semiora?
Semiora immediately revokes the OAuth token and permanently deletes all stored Slack credentials. No further notifications will be sent. Your booking history in Semiora is not affected.
